Design Wars 6: The Yarn

Can you believe it's already Design Wars SIX??  Time is flying by!  This cycle of DW brings us 9 amazing challengers & a new yarn selection.  The yarn was chosen by the fans for this round, and at first I have to admit I was a little disappointed.  I was really hoping Red Heart Unforgettable would win, but the fans decided Red Heart With Love was what they liked best.  To be honest, I didn't particularly want to work with "another boring worsted weight yarn"... but after the box arrived, I quickly changed my mind.

Pretty, huh?  I was quickly inspired by the bright colors and knew exactly what I wanted to make.  This yarn worked out VERY well for my design, and I'm VERY happy with the results.  I'm able to purchase RHWL from Walmart and JoAnn stores in my area.  If you haven't tried it yet, it's worth it.  The skeins are generous, and it's a very nice all-purpose yarn that would be perfect for just about any of your knitting and crocheting projects.

Here's the sneak peek of my DW6 design.  I couldn't resist making it rainbow-colored.  Those of you that know me probably weren't surprised at all.  I've made several samples of my design in lots of different color combinations, and I'm excited to share them with you SOON!  Here's a quick intro video I made for DW... I talk a little about myself, the yarn, etc.

The DW6 Final Reveal will be announced Thursday, February 27th (or one day sooner if you're a newsletter subscriber).  You'll then be able to start voting for your favorite designs & you can enter to win an amazing prize back donated by Red Heart Yarns!  For more information about all of this, please visit the Design Wars Facebook Page.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

New Design: Kaleidoscope Scarf

The Kaleidoscope Scarf is a quick and easy project with a fun, "zigzag" texture. It's simple, colorful & reversible. You can crochet the entire scarf using an I hook and just ONE ball (198 yds) of Knit Picks Chroma Worsted! Of course, you can use any yarn you like, but results will vary. This scarf is a fun accessory, and makes a great gift for children or adults!

If you haven't had the pleasure of trying Chroma yarn, you SHOULD. Or if you're like me & you're hoarding several balls of it in your stash, this is the perfect project to use one!

You can download your copy of the Kaleidoscope Scarf crochet pattern from ETSY, CRAFTSY, or RAVELRY for just $2.99!

Happy Crocheting!

CROCHET PATTERN - Scalloped Boot Cuffs

Scalloped Boot Cuffs are very popular right now!  I know there are several other patterns similar to this out there already, but I had a hard time finding one that wasn't full of errors, and included sizing for people with fat calves (like me!)  So I wrote up my own version, and I hope you will enjoy it!

These are super simple, they work up quickly, and come in 2 sizes.  They're stretchy, so they'll fit a wide variety of leg sizes.  These cuffs will work well with calf or ankle boots.  There's also a note in the pattern to help you make a child-sized set.

You can download your FREE PDF copy of the Scalloped Boot Cuffs crochet pattern on CRAFTSY or RAVELRY.

This pattern is free & you can make as many as you want!  Feel free to sell your boot cuffs, but please be polite and provide a link to this blog in your listings.  (Pattern by Danyel Pink - www.crazysocksdesigns.blogspot.com)  Also, do not copy and paste this pattern on other sites... but please provide a link back to this page instead.  Happy Crocheting!  :)

New Design: The Rebecca Cowl

The Rebecca Cowl is a lacy, feminine cowl that's fun to make & looks lovely paired with your favorite coat or sweater.  It's an easy crochet pattern that uses WW yarn and an I hook.  It's a quick and enjoyable project that you can make in about 2 hours.  It would even look beautiful in variegated or self-striping yarns.

I'm modeling the Rebecca Cowl in this photo... I occasionally model my own wares, but this is the first time I've used a photo of myself for a product photo!  Hi.  Nice to meet you!  :)

The pattern is available on ETSY, RAVELRY, and CRAFTSY.  Snag your copy for just $3.99 today!

Have a wonderful day!
